Millions of Laundry Pods Recalled Over 'Risk Of Serious Injury'

Millions of laundry detergent bags are being recalled by Proctor & Gamble, who are citing an injury risk as the reason.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said the 8.2 million liquid laundry detergent bags include the following brands

The recall applies only to bags distributed in the United States. The pods were manufactured between Sept. 2023

Customers can check the lot code on the bottom of their bag to see if it is part of the recall.

The CPSC said the outer packaging to prevent children and others from accessing the pods can split open near the zipper track.

This could pose a risk of serious injury to children and "other vulnerable populations"

There are no confirmed cases directly relating to the packaging defect, the CPSC said.

The firm received four reports of children accessing the packets, three of which reported ingestion during the time the recalled bags were sold.

People can also receive a cabinet lock for their laundry materials.
